What the heck is a semantic space

Working in databases, this is certainly of interest to me. In fact, databases are one of the more philosophical areas of computer sciences, at least as much as programming languages are; but perhaps not as much as AI (what happened to AI, by the way? computers are smaller and sleeker these days, but still procedurally controlled; I have yet to see a fuzzy logic driven computer application)

And why am I using it as the name of my blog? Other than trying to sound vaguely intellectual (NOT!), I think it is an accurate description of what I intend it to be: a place for me to jot down interesting ideas I come across; it is my space of meaning. And, nöosphere would have sounded so much more pretentious.
